Dr. Erik Anderson MD
Dr. Anderson is an attending physician of the Department of Emergency Medicine (EM) at the Alameda County Medical Center – Highland Hospital, in Oakland, California. After receiving an MD from the University of Minnesota, he trained in emergency medicine at ACMC-Highland. Dr. Anderson then proceeded to Stanford University for a fellowship in Population Health and Social Emergency Medicine. This fellowship focused on examining the impact of social determinants of health on emergency department care, and the development and evaluation of interventions aimed at supporting population health in the acute care setting. After fellowship in 2016, he worked for the Indian Health Service in Shiprock, New Mexico and acted as the Chief of Emergency Medicine and Trauma Medical Director. Dr. Anderson returned to academic emergency medicine in 2018 at ACMC-Highland in the Department of Emergency Medicine as a clinical and research faculty member. His primary research interests are the integration of public health health efforts into the acute care setting, as well as health disparities research.
